Welcome to Little Gillies, established in 2023, and situated in the centre of Wells-next-the-Sea on the picturesque North Norfolk coast.
Little Gillies, with support from the Wensum Trust, is located on the Wells Primary & Nursery School site. We operate independently of the Trust as a not-for-profit Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

The site has a long history of child care going back to 1971 when Polka Day Care established a playgroup. This expanded to include full day care in 2003. In 2022 the centre was struggling and was taken over by a large corporate group. Within 6 months they closed the doors leaving Wells with no child care facilities..

By the end of 2022 a group of local parents and residents took it upon themselves to re-establish the facility. With the support of the Wensum Trust, Holkham Estate and the town of Wells-next-the-Sea, Little Gillies was hatched!!

Our aim is to provide a nurturing space for all the children to be able to grow confidently. Activities will be varied and based around the individual needs of the children, helping them to progress and to become independent. We will provide a safe space for the children that will be child centred and well organised.

Little Gillies will offer term time child care from 9am till 3pm for babies & children, aged 3 months until the end of term after their 3rd birthday. The long-term aim, as the facility becomes re-established, is to increase to full days and to include breakfast and after school care and a holiday club.
