Little Gillies Daycare Welcomes First Ofsted Inspection

Little Gillies Daycare has proudly completed its first inspection by Ofsted, marking a significant milestone in the nursery’s journey and reflecting the team’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality early years care and education.

The inspection provided an opportunity for the nursery to showcase its warm, nurturing environment, dedicated staff team and child-centred approach to learning and development. Since opening, Little Gillies Daycare has focused on creating a safe, engaging and inclusive setting where children are encouraged to thrive, explore and build confidence through play-based learning.

During the visit, inspectors observed daily activities, interactions between staff and children, safeguarding practices and the overall learning environment. The inspection also highlighted the nursery’s strong partnerships with families and its commitment to supporting every child’s individual needs and development.

“As Chair of Little Gillies Daycare, I am incredibly proud to celebrate our rating in our very first Ofsted inspection. It has truly been a rollercoaster journey, but one that reflects the dedication, passion and resilience of Sarah and the entire team, who have created such a warm, nurturing and inspiring environment for our children. This achievement is also a testament to the unwavering support of our wonderful community—without whom this simply wouldn’t have been possible.”

The inspector stated: “Children enjoy attending this setting and learn about their local community. They explore the area’s fishing heritage through carefully planned displays and a variety of resources. Children engage in imaginative play using the large wooden boats outdoors. They also visit local shops and take part in community events such as the local carnival. This helps children respect their community and local heritage.”

The nursery team views the inspection as an important step in its continued growth and development and remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of childcare, learning and safeguarding.
